Marcy Singer is the owner of Seven Year Stitch. Her embroidery shop's newest client is Cassandra Wright. Marcy is making a wedding dress for Cassandra whose future mother-in-law has donated jewels to be added to the dress. After donating the jewels her future mother-in-law is found dead in front of the shop. Some of the jewels to be donated are missing from their velvet pouch. Cassandra was under the impression that the jewels were fakes but police have the jewels examined and find them real. Marcy becomes the prime suspect. Marcy's ex-fiancé who jilted her on their wedding day returns and wants her back. But does he want her or the jewels he thinks she has stolen? Marcy must try to find the real culprit to prove her innocence.

This cozy mystery is fast moving with an excellent cast of characters. There are enough suspects to keep the reader guessing until the final chapter.
