Marcy gets involved in a web of intrigue including
shipwrecks, lost treasure, and familial violence. The setting
is comfortable, and I love reading about Marcy’s shop,
the Seven-Year-Stitch.
This is the fifth book in this series, and
while I enjoyed it, something was missing. It seemed as if
the plot over-reached for extreme situations, and more than
once I found myself shaking my head at Marcy’s decisions.
I did like the book, and in fact even enjoyed
reading some character development points, such as Marcy finally
deciding between two men who wanted to be her one and only.
I recommend that if you have been reading
this series, you won’t want to miss this book. If not,
give this one a pass, and go back and start from the beginning
with The
Long Stitch Goodnight. If you are hooked on the series,
by the time you get to this fifth book, you will want to read
it if only to find out whom Marcy chooses as her beau.
