Rattle
His Bones
A Daisy Dalrymple Mystery
By Carola
Dunn
Although
Daisy Dalrymple's family is well off, she won't allow herself to
mooch off anyone. Daisy writes articles to make money and that is
what brings her to the Natural History Museum. After meeting the
people and learning many facts about the items in the museum, Daisy
assumes that everything worked out well with this writing assignment.
Unfortunately, that assumption comes back to haunt her when she
finds the murdered body of the Keeper of Mineralogy. Having been
involved in mysteries in the past, Daisy puts her oft-used skill
to work. Her fiancée Detective Chief Inspector Alec Fletcher
might not be happy about her interfering, but Daisy's input is usually
invaluable. Now if she can only stay alive until this case is solved.
Rattle
His Bones is the first time that I have read about Daisy and
it was a wholly enjoyable experience. Her cleverness and the way
she approaches everything is a breath of fresh air. I especially
liked the children in this novel. Not once did they annoy me and
they were just the right amount of precious. What makes this book
more than just a fun read is the way Dunn is able to transport me
back in time to the time she is writing about. Her details are wonderful
and never slow the story down. Rattle His Bones was a fine book
to start with.
