Lori Shephard's father-in-law, William Willis Sr.,
has relocated to the village of Finch to Fairworth House, an old
estate. He wishes to be near his grandchildren and Lori and Bill.
Lori hires a live-in couple to look after him. Soon odd things begin
to happen: furniture is moving, strange sounds are heard.
Lori turns to her paranormal Aunt Dimity for assistance.
They discover in Fairworth a painting, depicting the family tree,
which uncovers a shadowy past beneath the estate's surface.
Another story
offering a charming portrayal of English village life with the local
characters from previous books recurring and growing with the years.
The interaction between the characters is natural and normal. This
is an entertaining story with no explicit sex or murder or violence.
Such a breath of fresh air!
