The Overlook
Harry Bosch #13

by Michael Connelly

He’s back! Harry Bosch is on his first case since being put on the Los Angeles Police Department’s Homicide Special squad. Bosch is asked to help investigate the murder of Dr. Stanley Kent, a death which looks like a mob hit, but Dr. Kent doesn’t seem to have any ties to organized crime. Dr. Kent, however, does have ties to some highly radioactive substances. Because of the danger, the FBI is now involved, and Bosch is forced to decide how to play nicely with the FBI while breaking in a rookie cop who is his partner.

Michael Connelly continues the great characterization of Harry Bosch and his wonderful disposition towards authority. Fans of Bosch will not be disappointed in picking up this latest from Connelly. It is everything that a good Bosch book contains-mystery, suspense, twists and turns, and the craziness that Bosch puts himself through, this time, along with a rookie cop who is very green, while dealing with his onetime lover-Rachel Walling.

The Overlook is fantastic and a thrill to read. Readers can picture themselves in Bosch’s shoes and try to figure out what the heck is going on in Los Angeles.
