Mary, Mary
Alex Cross Novels
by James Patterson
Read by Peter J. Fernandez, Melissa Leo, Michael Louis Wells
Patterson: he never disappoints.
Mary, Mary begins on a personal note for FBI agent Alex Cross. After a family
vacation and a custody hearing, Cross leaves Washington, D.C and heads for California.
He's investigating what eventually turns into a series of murders - and the victims are
famous. Alex's first clue in the case is an email, signed "Mary Smith," sent to an LA
newspaper. A woman killing famous women? Why? And how is she able to get so close to
commit these heinous crimes? Alex investigates every angle and dissects every clue, which
brings him face to face with the murderous maniac. It's a chilling heart-racer. Be prepared.
Time Warner Audio increases the intensity in the audio version of Mary, Mary.
The narration is transferred from one character to another. Listeners will find it easy
to keep track, because Peter J. Fernandez, Melissa Leo, and Michael Louis Wells read the
various parts. They do a superb job of bringing Patterson's disturbing, not to mention
engrossing, novel to life. I found the most suspenseful scenes to be when the murderer is
setting up a kill. Whew -- wicked and disturbing! Mary, Mary is too graphic for
young audiences, so remember those headphones. |
